ReviewUPD. Now it's 6 out of 10

Have you ever heard of Catherine? No? If you want, I'll tell you. Even if you don't want to, I'll tell you anyway. Catherine is like Catherine, but Catherine. Catherine, Catherine, Catherine.

Emiya Shirou has a competitor in the category of the most inadequate main character. Take a shot every time Nick thinks about Catherine and you drink yourself to death before you even get to the second choice.

By the way, did I tell you about Catherine?

The scriptwriter is a strange person, all the characters freak out in every dialogue, and then apologize, What a hell? And when i say all i mean ALL CHARACTERS(except Michael because he is super unemotional, but that is stupid too).

Catherine is actually Catherine.

There are two main routes(4 girls, 1 Catherine). the first route with Catherine and another girl, but who cares about her if we're going to be thinking about Catherine all the time anyway. The second is way better. Probably because we will hear about Catherine a little less often, even the MC himself wonders why he thinks so little about Catherine.

I am on date with Himitsu. Time to think about Catherine.

Why 6 you ask? Because if you ignore MC(skip all of his thoughts) you can enjoy good(kind of) story and unique characters. Even Catherine.

"Because if you ignore MC(skip all of his thoughts) you can enjoy good(kind of) story and unique characters." - I couldn't have said better, nice summary of the whole game, man :D

Sadly, can't upvote the review as I've already written one myself, weird website limitations :(Last modified on 2022-08-11 at 10:23

< report >We need Doki Doki Catherine Club where Catherine forbids MC thinking about other girls.

"All you have to do is thinking about is Catherine.

< report >I personally think the biggest problem this VN suffers from is that there are next to no positive character interactions involving the MC for a good portion. Whoever he's talking to often ranges from completely indifferent (Michael) to seemingly outright cruel (Catherine). Then when you have characters who aren't completely awful to him, (Himitsu and Kyousuke) It's the MCs turn to just be a huge dick. Honestly this VN would be a whole lot more bearable if there was just some more situational balance. As it stands, every situation is an ordeal and every conversation is either an argument or one sided bullying. As far as the Catherine internal monologues are concerned, I've found these are only heavy on her and Himitsu's routes. They have this kind of... co-route which I guess splits off both ways fairly far in. Kagome and Ellie seem to be in a similar situation with a separate route path of their own. In that instance I've found that Nikolai thinks about Catherine and romance in general a whole lot less in favor of the "conspiracy" plot. Honestly I think this could be a decent VN with some heavy tuning but agree that large portions of it are near-unbearable as is.
