ReviewKaigen Seito is a strange sequel to the extra minigame included in Hanachirasu. Unlike it, this is more of a classic RPG with minimalistic exploration and rock-paper-scissors style combat. Sadly, the entire game is unvoiced and features a very limited presentation, the game mostly consists of assets pulled from previous Nitro+ titles, but there are some new CGs and sprites, and even a brand new vocal track near the ending!
The gameplay in general is very simplistic. You fight enemies, level up, collect new equipment, and explore grid-like maps. The combat is abusable, since most enemies seem to prefer one type of attack, so usually you just need to figure out which one, and repeatedly spam the counter move. Not much can be said there, it's as basic as an RPG can get. You need to grind for a bit each time you enter a new area, but it's not a big deal. You just get killed easily, so save a lot!
You play as an ambiguous protagonist in an undead-populated Tokyo. Your goal is simple: reach and defeat Ishima Kaigen. To do so, defeat her commanders while getting strong enough to face her in the process. Despite the story seeming like a silly joke at the beginning, there is actually a legitimate plot there. To the point that it doesn't feel like a minigame sequel, but a legitimate Hanachirasu epilogue! The big twists only happen nearing the ending, but it makes playing the game completely worth it in my opinion. My big recommendation is refuse Watari's deal when he prompts you at one point in the story, since doing so alters the ending sequence to include a new, longer scene there. I won't spoil what it is, but it is worth seeing.
I recommend this game to everyone who liked Hanachirasu just as much as I did. It brings extra closure to it's story, and you do get to see some fun characters again for one last time. The gameplay is simple, but not nearly as bad as some people claim as long as you don't neglect to save.
