| Review | Captivatingly stylized, washed out neo-noir aesthetic and nigh incomprehensible/cryptic but meaningful philosophical blabber carried by a vastly uneven plot spread across two sections. Placebo is kinda boring and interesting at the same time, although seeing everything unfold from the perspective of Morishima is fun in away. Certain cases in transmitter are engaging and some aren't, although the thematic undercurrents and interesting plot beats, make me play this game, even if ultimately the game doesnt answer everything or the answer is hard to decode. Not to say the oddly strange and almost estoric vibe this game has carries it for me. The plot beats are interesting, excellent albeit needing better execution and the characters are strange but humane at the same time. Morishima, Kusabi, Sumio and the Silent MC Akira.. are all well written. The Climax is great as well, and wraps up the story really well. OVERALL, Decent introduction to Suda51.. is kinda like the Paranoia agent of gaming. Equal parts satisfying and frustrating. Looking forward to Flower, Sun and Rain and the Sequel of TSC |
