Review | I was very curious about this “visual novel” game because I heard the game touched on the subject of transidentity and self-acceptance. The game mechanism is a bit surprising ; your cursor is an eraser and through the game you’ll erase texts, memories, feelings…through the sight of a young transwoman, Kasio. The game esthetic is absolutely beautiful <3 it’s like reading the pages of a comic book, with doodles and watercolor drawings. Also, the music is perfect, such a delight to my ears <3 Now for the story, I think it was very moving and I could see some comments from trans people who said they recognized themselves in it, so I’m glad that the game was able to transcribe the emotions & struggles for some of them. I have two regrets though. The mechanism with an eraser is original but it quickly becomes tedious imo (my poor wrist…). Also, I personally think it could have a much bigger impact if the player could interact more directly with the story : for people who are ignorant with the subject, or who don’t understand the suffering of these people, I don’t know if the game as it is would be enough to make them see it differently. I think that with more interactions, the player would feel closer to the MC bcs more involved in what’s happening to her. That way I think it could have been more educational… Anyway, if you search for a short game that will give you lot of emotions and knows its stuffs, If Found will be there for you~ |
