ReviewI mainly played this due to being a big fan of Kotaru Uchikoshi. That said, I also knew that this was one of his first excursions into writing, so my expectations were tempered accordingly. Never 7 is a dating sim with some sci-fi ideas shoehorned in. The sci-fi concepts are interesting (and probably used as a springboard for the future installments), but their implementation in the game is random. In the majority of routes, it's presented as a supernatural occurrence. Also, exactly which aspects of the sci-fi are true and false change depending on the route/ending. The variance in quality between the routes, along with some writing that sometimes borders on purple prose, makes it a hard sell. But, if you're a big Uchikoshi fan, it's fun to see the progression of his writing over time.
