Review | An Otome game by the popular manga artist Ishida Sui who is the author of Tokyo Ghoul, a popular anime/manga which Ishida Sui is mainly known for. I originally was going to skip this game due to not really liking the art but I’m glad I didn’t and in the end ended up appreciating the art. I read some extremely good reviews about it on Amazon Japan and thought I’d give it a try and in the end I really enjoyed it. The game is very long, maybe 2x-3x the length of usual long otomes and is very different than your usual Otome where you just pick a choice and continue reading since there is a schedule in this game where you pick which skill you want to level up daily and the events for each day is different where you can choose who you want to meet and such, as well as a rhythm game system. I think there was some questions going around asking if this was an Otome game and I was curious too before I played, but after playing I can say for sure it’s an Otome game (6 LIs in total). It’s a mix of VN + rhythm game and the music in this game were all really enjoyable and memorable. The romance in this game is on the lighter side but the character connection in the game is really great. I felt like each LI was unique and well-written and I thoroughly enjoyed each route which is rare for me since I don’t always enjoy all routes when playing an otome. The game starts off quite slow, but eventually gets much better. The main downside of this game I would say is after the first play through, the second play through and so forth will mainly be the same until near the end so make sure to use the skip-read option so you don’t become tired of reading the same thing again for the next 5 LI routes + one final route. My personal favorite ranking were: 1. Fuumi 2. Suzu 3. Kai 4. Shirota 5. Neji 6. Soushiro All routes were really enjoyable and unique in their own ways. I loved seeing the MC’s connection with each LI, I can definitely feel a strong connection with each. If you’re looking for an Otome with heavy romance + spice, this game is not for you since as mentioned above, the romance is on the lighter-side. But if you’re someone who likes seeing strong character connection, definitely give this game a try since you will be in for an enjoyable ride. |
