Review | My disappointment with this series has reached a new low. I *should* be the target audience of this game; I love these taboo storylines, and mom stuff in particular, but the devs seem to have completely forgotten what makes these stories interesting. From my initial forum post: This story goes from 0 to 100 faster than maybe every entry so far. It's mother's day, the MC decides to be a nice boy and makes dinner, cleans, gives her a massage. During the massage she moans a bit and he pops a boner. He's like uh oh, sorry, I gotta go. She's like wait, what's that? And then she just nonchalantly goes "well, I gotta take responsibility", unzips his pants and starts blowing him. Like WHAT?? How is that her reaction? This goes from jolly family time to full-blown incest in less than 60 seconds, just because she saw he had an erection. The MC doesn't even know what's going on. The second interaction, the son is spying on her in the shower. She catches him in the act and is about to scold him, until she notices his erection and goes "welp, I guess we gotta take care of this first", kneels down, and gives him a titjob. I don't understand how the writing in these games keeps getting worse. I've said before but it doesn't even need to be special. It just needs to be okay. A basic, by the numbers story would've been great. It just needs to make some basic sense. But if it doesn't then the thing completely falls apart. These fetish stories are predicated on the tension and drama of these relationships. This has negative tension on account of the characters acting completely alien. If only I could find solace in other aspects of the game, but those have been disappointing too. The music is still the same 5 awful tracks they licensed 10 years ago. Some of which sound horribly compressed and painful on the ears. I've commissioned music before, I know it's not that expensive to commission a new track or two. Come on. Hozumi Kaoru's art has also left me disappointed. His hands still look gnarly, his faces often look awkward. He's slowly improving things, but it feels like he's not actually exposing himself to critique and trying to patch his most glaring flaws. In a way that's kind of emblematic of all the problems going on in this game. It feels like the devs are just putting this out into the void and not listening to feedback. It feels thoughtless. Like they're just working for the check, and don't seem to care whether they make a good product. I hate to be a negative nancy but this is their 10th (their tenth game!) in this series. How can you be so clueless as to what you're doing 10 games in? I want to support this, I want these games to be great, but I can't in good conscience support this as it is. I've written reviews on their product pages and sent emails, and nothing came of it. I'm all out of good faith. |
