| Review | Expectations were rock bottom heading into it and especially after the first part, but I was pleasantly surprised. There are a few parts that are pretty fucking funny. Not in an over the top way, just moments that are genuinely funny any make me laugh. There wasn't any cheesy shitty VN music during any of the funny parts and it was light on the tropes. Not that tropes are even bad anyways as long as they're somewhat self-aware. The plot is fucking crazy and probably has a ton of plot holes if I cared to investigate it, but it's fine enough thematically. Thematically speaking, the themes are pretty simplistic but unfortunately a little weak and beaten to death. Then they commit the first cardinal sin of turning the heroine into a damsel in distress and have ebic chad coming to save her from her mental traumas where she then falls in love with him because she was too weak to do anything herself. I guess it's a little more balanced because MC also has a fuckton of mental trauma (arguably moreso than the heroine) but like come the fuck on why does every female character just have to be a helpless blob of nothing in every game. But yeah the plot just goes fucking bonkers at times especially at one of the endings, and the ending is actually satisfying (ESPECIALLY because they ACTUALLY FUCKING KISS at the end instead of some stories for some godforsaken reason. It is kind of lame you don't get good art of MC making out with YiYao and I wanted to see some tongue or some freaky shit but who am I to complain?). tldr it's funny and has a crazy but probably nonsensical plot. Would recommend. |
