ReviewOne of the most disappointing experiences I have had with a Visual Novel.

While I do find Takuru and Serika's relationship and the final route to be really touching, everything else is so sloppily executed it made me wonder if the writers even planned anything other than Silent Sky. Most of the Heroine routes are rushed garbage, Nono's is decent but it still suffers from issues. People praise the common route as one of the highlights of the VN, which is not a high bar, it's still average at best. The Sakuma twist just for the sake of some bare-bones post-modern allegory is one of the worst twists I have had the displeasure of experiencing.

The whole "it was all a dream" shtick which the VN hints at, and fans often used to justify some of the poor writing decisions in the VN, is extremely poorly set up.

I still find Takuru's character arc regarding elitism and Serika being an antithesis to him to be overall well executed and it's really cool how they parallel Takumi and Rimi from Chaos;Head. The VN in general attempts to subvert Chaos;Head. Unfortunately, that's where my praise for it ends.

People love to praise it for its social commentary on the flow of information but you are better off exploring other works that tackle this idea in an actually compelling manner.
