| Review | Dohna Dohna was my first eroge and I went in with pretty high expectations after hearing friends talk about the polished and colorful artstyle. Let me tell you they were right. Since I played it for the first time I haven’t been able to put it down. If you’re going into Dohna Dohna ~ Let’s do bad things together for an amazing groundbreaking story that will change your perspective on life I’d probably stay away. If you’re looking for a VN that doesn’t take itself seriously (although some of the themes are very serious), with fun characters, beautiful colorful art and simple yet engaging RPG gameplay then Dohna Dohna was made for you and I’d certainly recommend you pick it up. Like I said before, the story isn’t that groundbreaking but it’s still fun and engaging because the character interactions and comedy are top notch. I didn’t feel bored at any point during my playthrough except at a couple points where I needed to grind out some character levels. Every character that joins the gang has their own personal side stories and ero scenes. While some of them don’t land, they’re almost all entertaining and even though they don’t contribute to the main plot of the story they didn’t feel tedious at all. The gameplay is actually very impressive for being a part of a visual novel. It compliments the simple story beautifully because you can alternate between the engaging RPG/hustling gameplay and the narrative. It all flows together into bite sized pieces where you never feel bored and it makes the game very bingeable. The music is really nice as well. My favorite track was the Shinonome Clan theme (it goes hard as fuck). I’d also like to say that this game is perfect for the Steam Deck. Overall I really enjoyed Dohna Dohna and I’m looking forward to picking up other Alicesoft titles like Rance. |
