ReviewThis novel is a void, and its enduring popularity a deep condemnation of the medium itself. To even describe its love story as being unique in any particular way implies that eroge readers, despite their tendency towards the ultra-edgy and the grotesque, have not even stopped to barely consider watching Elfen Lied. That one could think that even the memory manipulation is interesting in itself is a sign that none of them have watched a sci-fi movie. Total Recall, even. It is a community completely insulated, even from regular otakudom, and comprised of only the most depraved perverts who take pleasure in the repulsion they cause to regular people. It is the bottom of the barrel, the worst of the worst, and to even indulge it is to risk staring deep into the abyss. By the time you're even entertaining reading the poop-eating visual novel because of its reputation for being "actually quite good", it's already too late. We are broken and doomed subjects who huddle together, gasping for air in shallow pools, sharing in each other's filth, and we do it on purpose.

How cruel is the life of one who can't even find pleasure or catharsis in art without seeing someone get dog shit shoved up their ass.

< report >I don't know or care if you are right or wrong, but you forgot to point out the problems in euphoria that lead to it being a 3. Insults and comparisons don't lead to a review or even a helpful collection of thoughts for other VNDB users.

< report >I could write a lot more about all the individual problems with euphoria (and I have in private!!), but its worst aspects are so apparent, so evident, that it ultimately made me feel pathetic for even caring. I could list a thousand different arguments as to why the pee pee and poo poo eating eroge is bad, yes, but this being an argument I even have to indulge in is accepting the premise that there is anything particularly unique about euphoria that needs to be debated over. There is not. That is the only thing worth pointing out. It does not make a case for its existence, and I think the most important lesson you could take from it is that, even if you really like eroge, you need to interact with art other than eroge. The only way one could be impressed by euphoria is if one only read eroge. I do not need to write a 5k word essay to argue that you've no reason to read the poop eating eroge. Unless you're into poop

< report >Actually, based review.
The premise was at least interesting --in it's potential to create a fruedian story with exploration of psychology of
violent fetishes -- but that's it. Atmosphere in the beginning was ok. But nothing interesting came from it. The sole fun moment is evil-route. It is at least fun trash. The rest of the work is just trashLast modified on 2023-05-10 at 13:05

< report >It is great. It's not the game's problem that you were recommended it thinking you were getting into some underrated high art, instead of a porn game with an interesting plot
And of course all these critiques from pseudo-intellectuals who are so above it always boil down to "but the poop. I don't like it". Because in reality that's what actually bothers you, the poop. Not anything else

Also, VNs are a porn medium. They make money because they have porn in them. If you're worried about VNs being "deeply condemnated" then you should go do something else instead of being a VN fan.Last modified on 2023-05-10 at 13:35
