ReviewSimply superior to Mask of Truth. It knows what makes the series good, and has it in spades. The sequel is a lot more somber and more like a classic JRPG and fails to hit the high notes that Mask of Deception does. Seeing lazy Haku's plans succeed yet fail in the most hilarious ways never got old. This has the Haku that Kuon fell in love with. Whereas the sequel is (mostly, but not entirely) just her moping about it the entire game.

< report >I don't know which is superior, cause they need each other to be complete, but I understand liking one better than the other.

< report >Mask of Truth is very good, I gave it an 8/10. I just didn't like how easily the Haku=>Oshtor swap went without nary a hitch. I would understand if Haku's close friends all agreed to help him play the role, but it seems nearly all of them were genuinely fooled. It just made the game too somber and stilted, even when Haku was with his friends he put up a front... #3 needed more Haku, less Oshtor.
