| Review | The story is great, with an instigating mystery that grips us until we understand all the details behind everything that happens. The characters are charismatic, especially the protagonist, Date, and his partner, Aiba. Their relationship shows camaraderie and partnership, even if they sometimes curse each other a lot. What prevents me from giving it a perfect score is two things. First of all: the Somnium. They are beautiful and creative, but they are enigmas that do not follow a natural logic and often require trial and error. With few exceptions, I was bored in several moments and needed to resort to guides in order not to disturb even more my experience. The second big problem is the bad timing for comic relieves. AI is very peculiar because it has tense and brutal scenes and also genuinely funny moments. The problem is when climatic action scenes are turned into a joke. While I was curious to know what the characters would do to get out of a certain situation, I ended up finding implausible solutions with comical purposes. It seemed to me a lazy way to get them out of dangerous situations. Leaving these two problems aside, it's a amazing visual novel. The characters charmed me and I loved seeing this mystery unfold. It was all a trip that I recommend! |
