ReviewI actually think Musumaker is a completely misunderstood game and it's completely at the fault of the devs for making the setting so vile that it turns off people who aren't willing to see what the game can offer, for making the game take as much time as it does, and how lax the overall tone is for 100% of the common route. It lasts over about a year in-game and you only get into a route 75% into that year. Worse yet, it's only when you're at 95% into the year that you're actually into the meat of the route. Everything before that is just a new event every week or so. The in-game time could have easily be half that length.

The main routes are Karin, Mikan, Ichigo, and the true ending that can only be unlocked after finishing the former 3. Zakuro is a side character, but she essentially has a route. Yuzu and Suika only have endings that are 20 lines long at most and are really just an h-scene + ending CG. If you are able to learn the system and get to the end of the game (it's not hard. You can easily get to the point where you don't need to make money for months if you know what you're doing), I recommend doing Mikan's or Ichigo's routes. Those are the best out of the 3 main heroine routes. Karin's route is ehh and Zakuro's was decent, but not as good as either two. The true ending is decent, but drags at points.

Of all of the endings, I think Ichigo's is the best and if you are going to do any route, I would recommend her's. It surprisingly shows so much maturity and actual emotion in the drama, completely opposite to my previous experience with this company (Tincle ★ Twinkle Festival!) in literally every route where the drama was just completely whatever.

There is a whole lot more going on under the surface that it borders on genre shifting compared to the SoL before it. This applies to both to the heroines who have routes and the whole orphanage everyone is living at. If you're able to see past the vile setting (don't worry, the characters, even the girls, basically too because they're just one big family), it definitely has some interesting stories to tell and the perspective of the girls are unique because you rarely see heroines who have been abandoned for whatever reason by their parents and are still at such a young, impressionable age. I would want to give this a higher score, but it's only being hampered down by the exhausting gameplay. If it weren't for that, I would easily give this an 8.

< report >I think that if developer cut out gay H-scene and scat training h-scene then more peaple will be interested in this VN.
