ReviewSakura beach is one game that part of an infamous Sakura franchise. The infamy is because of the short story while adding too many ecchi and no H-Scene. Sakura Beach is the 4th games from the Sakura franchise. And here comes my attempt to review it.

For the story, it's the standard one with MC goes with 2 of his Childhood friends, Ayumi and Momoko goes to the beach. Apparently our MC is too ambitious about space. So much when he was daydreaming he always thinking about space. A side note. If a people thinking about Japan too much is called weaboo (Sorry to all of the user here), what should I called the people who thinking and daydreaming about space too much? Spaceboo?

Back to story. Our childhood friends apparently want our MC, Seiji not to much daydreaming. And our MC is apparently also couldn't handle innuendo enough, like when girls eating Popsicle erotically. One more thing, Seiji is dense. Very dense. Look I know dense MC are supposed to be part of VN, but this is too much. At least in other VN the girls usually never showing erotic thing in front of MC, but in here MC is shown many thing that considered ecchi enough and normal girl would be embarrassed, yet in here they show it almost without hesitation. And the dumb MC didn't catch any of it. That happen in common route. When the girls ask the obvious, I was laughing in heart to our dumb Seiji.

For the girls, Ayumi is tsundere and smart. While Momoko is more forward and athletic. Both of them apparently realize there is something wrong with Seiji, so they kinda attempted to cheer him up. And until in the end game I was kinda asking what they saw in Seiji, when apparently countless popular and good boys try to woo them and of course since they not MC they obviously failed. So much that Ayumi and Momoko become infamous for their rejecting and therefore unreachable.

The graphic I think nothing special. But damn the background sure is showing that the resort is gorgeous one. While the beach and plain is quite plain(Forgive the pun). The story goes like Ayumi always learn about swimming since she couldn't swimming and Momoko eat at the shack. By the way did all 3 of them didn't ge bored swimming in the beach?

The CG is misleading since 3 of these showing lesbian, while the story is showed a boy and his childhood friends. I actually thinking this would be great if they showed lesbian, only the story is that we had Seiji. Booooo......... I think we could easily swapped Seiji role to said Momoko or Ayumi anyway, and we will had hot lesbian Sakura games lol. Anyway, I think the art is serviceable enough, although some people obviously prefer the previous art with Shiny Boob. But I think I prefer this type of art for this one since it reminds me of Koi Resort imo.

Music is standard I think. Will compared it with Koi Resort in future. System is quite good. About the ending, there are 2 endings obviously and I think the choice is quite obvious. Just in case you confused about polygamy think because you ctrl-ing(I understand), scroll up if you had the mouse of course.

Well, I think that's all for my attempted review for this game. Sorry for bad grammar.

Summary

This game is actually quite decent for Sakura games. But many misdirected art is the one that causing infamy to this franchise. MC is the dumbest one I've ever met in any of VN, eventhough the girls very obviously show their feeling. And yeah daydreaming about space too much.

PS (05/09/2020) - It's been five years since I wrote this, so perhaps I should be more lenient in regard of this seeing that I already know some infamous MC such as HatsuKoi's Yuuma or perhaps Majokoi's Takumi. Or maybe not because at least those two have some Freudian Excuse and have some influence to the heroines, while Seiji here is pretty much can be swapped out and so we can have Sakura Beach as GL/yuri/lesbian VN (And apparently Winged Cloud realized it, so much that their recent VNs did remove male MC presence and change it with female MCs). So yes my opinion is not changed as of now, and yes I also know that Yuzusoft VNs did have a number of accidental peeping with the MC there but at least it's really accidental rather than deliberately invoked by the heroines (Although whether somene tired with that kind of joke or not is another issue).

PPS - I think I find another way to cal Seiji, and it would be space otaku lol.
