ReviewAfter finishing, I have to admit that this did not hold up as well as I had hoped it would. There are definitely some great moments here, but you have to slog through a lot of boring, ultimately unimportant scenes to get to them.

The greed route in particular was excruciating to read, and the out-of-nowhere ending just made it even worse. I even enjoyed it less than the lust route, which seems to be the least favorite route in popular opinion. The suspicion route was decent, but there was little actual detective work to do, and many of the crimes were lacking in real motive or required some characters to do a complete heel turn on their personality in order for them to work.

The trust route is definitely intended to be the true ending and as such features the best writing the game has to offer, but still is not without scenes lacking impact. And, it's hard to say whether I would have liked it as much as I did without playing the other, worse routes.

I would recommend Inescapable only to someone who's really starving for a Danganronpa-esque story.
